Did anyone else love that Shelley Long/Jenny Lewis (yes, of Rilo Kiley, she’s in it!) Troop Beverly Hills movie growing up? I sure did, I even owned it on VHS. And sometimes when I am doing things like climbing a mountain, all I can think of is that movie. (Quick plot synopsis: Shelley Long leads a troop of princessey Girl Scout-like Wilderness Girls from Bev Hills- they survive camping).
Except, I am a little better at wilderness than they were. But I do like to sing the theme song while strolling down the mountain (Beverly Hills, what a thrill!).
Anyway, I am pretty sure I earned at least one Wilderness Girl badge this weekend. Yep, I made it to the top of Mt. Whitney. Go me.

While walking the trail up the mountain, I fell in love with the very cool trail signs that popped up everywhere. Rustic, handmade and woodsy, kind of like something Aiden from Sex and the City would make (even though I don’t think he’s right for Carrie, I will always be an Aiden girl, but alas, I digress)…

“Her recommendations for a campsite were totally unsuitable. There were no outlets. And there was dirt, and bugs, and… and it rains there. So anyway, we’ve found a place that’s much more us: the Beverly Hills Hotel. ” – Phyllis Nefler, Troop Leader Troop Beverly Hills
