On a recent trip to Seattle I made a stop at one of my favorite shops: glassybaby
glassybaby’s are beautiful hand-blown glass votives (or vase, or drinking glass). They are made from different shaded glass rods that are blown in a multi-layered process to create thick circular votives with rich, deep color. Depending on what angle you look at the votive, it will change colors slightly and appear either opaque or translucent. glassybaby‘s are extraordinarily beautiful, unique and magical in this way, and so lovely to have hanging out around your home. I adore my personal collection and am constantly thinking about expanding it. The problem is, I can’t decide what color to get next. <3
Although on this trip I visited the newer University Village retail store, I love going to the original Madrona shop that is attached to their glass-blowing studio. All of the glassybaby‘s are made there and it is oh so fun to watch the artists play with the melting color rods over the oven. I highly recommend the trip.
glassybaby is a true Seattle-run operation, but they actually just opened up a new store in the West Village in NYC. If you are in NY (lucky you) you must stop by and check it out. I guarantee you will fall in love with them too.

And since I have New York Fashion Week on the brain- I think that if I were to ever send a colletion down the runway, or style a runway show, I would line the runway with these votives, all lit up. How pretty would that be?
