a pumpkin carving story….
My friend Hilaire (first seen here) invited me and some of our other girlfriends over this week for an evening of girl talk, wine, giants game viewing, sweet treats and BYOP (bring your own pumpkin) pumpkin carving. Hilaire had decorated her apartment adorably for the occasion and treated us, literally, to all homemade cupcakes, Reese’s pieces covered caramel apples, chocolate dipped pretzel sticks and all the candy corn (my favorite) and hershey’s kisses we could dream of. What a doll. A very creative, Martha Stewart-esque doll. Hilarie carved a bat in her pumpkin and I carved a winky face. I think they came out great (see below) – especially since neither of had carved a pumpkin in years. At the end of the night, we were sent home with our pumpkins and witchy decorated goody bags. It was a totally fun and festive evening. Thanks for being the hostess with the mostess Hil!
