Kate Middleton takes the cake for The Best Week Ever last week, dontcha think? One lucky lady, that one Miss Princess of Wales to be.

While everyone was fawning over her massive & shockingly beautiful Princess Diana inherited sapphire ring and the unfamiliar sound of her voice as well as her terrific blow-out during last week’s press release, the internet was abuzz with pictures of Kate from the past 8 years she and Wills were together. As I was looking through all of her outfit shots, many from Vanity Fair’s feature on her in their 2008 International Best Dressed list, I couldn’t help but notice that this is a girl who can seriously rock a hat. I mean, her hat collection is truly fantastic. If you know me well, you know how much I adore head and hair accessories (see here & here, and then there was that year not too long ago where I wore a giant flower or pouf on my head nearly every single day because I thought it was fun). I like how Kate’s hats and fascinators always subtley match her outfit, how she makes them look so effortlessly and enviably chic and how she seems to have fun wearing them, too. Because even when you’re royalty, you can’t take yourself nor fashion too seriously now, can you?

Almost all of Kate’s hats she wears in public are made by the very famous Irish Milliner Philip Treacy who also designs hats for the Queen Mum as well as for Givenchy, Chanel and Ralph Lauren runway shows, the Harry Potter movies, Lady Gaga and SJP.

I am looking forward to the hats she chooses to wear for events in years to come  (because you know her outfit choices are now a major deal for the rest of her life as she becomes an HRH) and am kind of dreaming about what she may wear on her head come wedding day.
