While my trip to NYC back in September was the shopping tour of the city, this trip was most decidedly the ‘Eat and Drink’ tour of New York. Wish I had taken more pictures but here’s a little bit of my tour….

When I asked my roommate who recently moved from NY for some recommendation on where to eat she could barely get out the word ‘Momofuku’ without tripping over her own giddy excitement. She even ran into her room to get the cookbook which she promptly plunked on my lap and forced me to read through. You HAVE to go, she said. Now while my work friends here in SF have said there is just as good of noodle places out in the Richmond, I have to say, Momofuku Noodle Bar is so bomb, if you are a giant bowl of noodles and veggies and intense, interesting mixed asian flavors person like me. Plus, they have these amazing things called ‘Pork Buns’ – yes, but so much better than any you’ve ever had before. Delic.

Now, if you didn’t already know this about me, you should know that I am somewhat of an omelette aficionado. It’s pretty much the only kind of eggs I like, and I really like me a good omelette. Thankfully, dearest Eliot chose the most magical and lovely omelette brunch locale for our Sunday afternoon meetup in the Meatpacking: Fig & Olive. You must go. It’s classy in a ‘ladies who lunch’ way and you can drink rosé without judgement. Plus its an old meat warehouse which is kind of cool too. The herbs, the veggies, the cheese, the dipping sauce. yummm. Oh and the Crostini sampler? Divine Providence.

Also on Le Tour de Cuisine was the yummy Gemma in the Bowery Hotel, for their rustic Italian homemade pasta; the secretive underground in Chinatown mexican restaurant Pulqueria for their pitchers of Margaritas and 3am dance floor complete with Mariachi band (and yes, the enchiladas were insane too)- I am not kidding, this place was too.effing.cool.; Elsa for delicious chick-friendly cocktails, the adorable Cornelia Street Cafe tucked away in the West Village for a cheese platter and a bottle of wine, and Joseph Leonard, on Waverly also in the West Village for an unreal Pork Chop with butternut squash puree and an entertaining wait staff (hey girl hey) and fun atmosphere (this place is a total end-of-the-night cocktail party in a tiny 7 table WVillage walk-up pretty much every day of the week, all day. Plus the food is fantastic). Bon Appétit indeed.
