I bought this dress years ago in the Haight and have always called it my First Lady dress. For some reason I always got a Nancy Reagan vibe from it, but I actually think Michelle O would wear this now too. I like to pull it out of my closet for days when I want to appear particularly sophisticated and sassy. The navy color and ribbed texture (which you can’t see) take it too a less serious and severe place than a traditional black work sheath. For today’s outfit I decided to go in a more artsy direction and pile on a neck party incorporating both earthy and modern metal elements. I was thinking the other day that it was about time for a good neck party around these parts, yes? My coworker actually said I looked like a cool New York art gallery director. And I told her, whaddaya know, exactly the look I was going for….
