Wow, Hugh Hefner really is having a moment in fashion these days isn’t he? First the pajama look and now its all about the ‘smoking slipper’. It seems as the shoes we all need to have on our feet come fall (come, like next week) are these adorable slipper/loafer flats (sophisticated cousin of the ballet flat says Elle…). Well, I was sold at slipper. Seriously, fashion, keep throwing at me these super comfy trends, I’ll take ‘um.

This brings me to my Saturday afternoon with my best friend Chadé, when we stumbled upon a great new show store in the Haight (Piper’s Shoe Parlor…. go, you can’t miss it, there is a teepee in the window) and the BFF found these bluey leather, horsey head stamped slipper beauties. She zeroed in on them from across the store and there just so happened to be one pair left, in her size (how convenient). It was actually kind of perfect because they really are so her, horses are definitely her spirit animal and not mine. It was a match made in shoe heaven. Once we got home excitement was on such a high over this new purchase that we did some runway model walks across the apartment and had a little fashion shoot with our albino kitty friend, Boopie. Isn’t a good buy simply the best? Now I just need to find myself a good fancy schmancy pair so we can match. I am thinking these or these and most definitely these (cheap thrill!)…
