Aloha from New York! That was the theme of Mara Hoffman’s beachy fun and carefree Spring/Summer show. I am a huge fan of Mara Hoffman’s prints and overall aesthetic, so seeing her show in New York during Fashion Week was a total delight. Watching Mara’s show had us all transported to a lush and exotic place where summer was not indeed over, and it had a great soundtrack. Kitschy fun hula girls playing ukuleles leading into Cat Power’s new song ‘Manhattan’ (get it?), swoon. Let’s just say girlfriend had me wanting another tropical vacay, stat. Mara’s clothes pretty much always seem to have this effect on me. I loved the bright color palette, the Polynesian-inspired native prints (A MH signature) and the palm leaf texture detailing in bra tops and corsets. Plus, the most fun leafy hair pieces, glamazon woman bronzed skin and peachy lips and a finale to ‘Shake, Shake, Shake Senora.’ I couldn’t resist sharing the pictures here in hopes they would transport you to some sort of tropical fantasy land while sitting in front of your computer in early Fall. Goal achieved?
