I had the pleasure of attending the Richard Chai Love Women’s and Menswear Spring/Summer 2013 show yesterday afternoon. I loved the collection, which was so perfectly pretty and springy (pastels, lots of white and pretty florals), with infusions of seriously cool elements: minimalism, military, sporty fabrics and details (cutouts, neoprene, anoraks, colorblocking) and textured, sparkly glam (see the gold sequin and beaded embellished numbers at the end). The uniting theme was “light” (Chai’s word for his ultimate inspiration) and that underlying thread wove its was throughout the collection. Think: reflections of light, light color palette, light as in not a lot of material, light at in playful and fun – swingy skirts. I loved how Chai was able to coordinate a lot of elements together to make a show that felt so cohesive. brilliant.
Check back for more show coverage- Rebecca Minkoff and Mara Hoffman! I’m having the best time here in New York and I hope you’re enjoying following along xx.
p.s. did I not have the best seat ever? Serious score. And I got to sit next to a photographer for Interview Magazine who gave me some clutch tips. Also, if you look closely you will the Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist in the background of a couple of my pictures, he sat directly across from me. So many fun life moments at Fashion Week.
